Joe Van Meter, currently pitching in the Orioles organization, sent a nice note recently.He let me know that he was a Yankees fan growing up. He is happy to be in the Orioles organization, and he thought Hickory was a fun place to play.
He says that Lexington was a cool place to play and visit (he played in town against the Legends in the SAL).
He was happy to be close to Louisville and Churchill Downs. He would like to go to the Derby someday.
